What does the Alaska State High School Men’s Basketball Tourney have to do with fishing? Well at Mission Lodge a lot!!!

A big congrats goes out to our very own mr-fix-it [Brian Alexander – longtime Mission Lodge caretaker/maintenance guru] for being chosen again this year to officiate at the Alaska State Boy’s High School Basketball Tournament! All of us ‘Brian Fans’ want to see an action shot or two from this year’s tourney action [hint, hint] — not saying that this looks like a mug shot, but well, ya know…

a quote from the man himself
———————————-
Basketball officiating is somewhat of a passion for me. It has provided me
to travel all over the state of Alaska. Barrow,( where I tasted a fermented
blood dish) Nome, (end of the Iditarod race), Kotzebue, Bethel,( tasted
seal) Unalaska ( of deadliest catch fame). I am stranded here in Unalaska as
I write. Crab pots stacked 10 stories high and filling up a football field
is quite a sight.

Chasing these kids up and down the floor is a challenge at my age. But it is
one of my ideas of having fun!
